I have a theory on the DDSI price drop:

biz.yahoo.com

As of September 10, they were delivering a couple of prototype machines, which means that people will be able to evaluate their claims. Sell on that news.

Here's the defense of DDSI being made on its SI board:

"In order to raise additional capital to go to manufacture of LiveScan, DDSI
recently issued/sold an additional 1.2M +/- shares of common stock to a Florida
investment firm/group for somewhere in the neighborhood of .60 - .70 per share
(confirmation of the price supposedly coming tomorrow). (Looks like they set
themselves up to be fleeced/arbitraged). DDSI apparently has received about half
the money from the sale, and before paying the balance this investment group is
attempting to force DDSI to change the rules of the sales agreement. Apparently
they want to replace the CFO with their own person and to control the corp.
checkbook. Certain other "irregular, possibly illegal" demands have been put
forth by the new group, possibly in conflict with the pending 504. When DDSI told
them they would not comply with the demands, they threatened to tank the stock -
evidenced by today's action. That's all I have at this time. Played telephone tag
with GC most of the afternoon. Trying to work out the possibility of shareholders
buying direct from DDSI or their MM, so they can raise their cash and we bypass these Florida bastards."
