Likewise, if improvements in Si based equipment lower its cost performance ratio faster than those of GaAs, then companies like Vitesse will suffer.

What is your sense of how line shrinkage and copper technology are improving the cost/performance ratio of silicon relative to GaAa? I'm assuming this is the main argument behind AMCC's claim that silicon will dominate the market over GaAs.

Sun - Thanks for the comments. It appears to me as though there are currently two factors dragging down VTSS:
1 - concerns over the global economy and therefore, demand for VTSS chips from Alcatel, Ciena, Tellabs, etc.
2 - most investors seem to be abandoning the little guys in favor of the DOW 30.
