L: I thought the answer to your question was that the absolute end would be when all equities were valued at zero. However, my broker informs me that should my holdings go below zero, I would need to make additional investment to maintain my positions. I will need to think long and hard before I do that; liquidation may be the preferred exit strategy at that point. <GGG>

On a more serious note, I have a very difficult time visualizing, with a satisfactory degree of personal comfort, how this is all going to end. Very well, I hope; but the President's pickle (no pun intended), the complexity of the overseas economic situation, Year 2000 implications, and the societal shifts are more than I can conclude on beyond a WAG.
