I don't see any reason not to do as Carter requests...unless, there is something to hide. Someone, whether it's Germany, England, Italy, Amnesty International, Greenpeace or others will go look at this and publish the results.

Republican Legacy Who was the last politician in trouble for sexual exploits? Gary Hart? Committed adultery withdrew from the race. Who is next? So Clinton had an affair, lied about it. Impeachable? Wishful thinking. Legacy, the party that commenced impeachment proceeding over lying about a matter that is normally entirely private. The party that is slanderizing the Bill of Rights and utilizing the Judicial system for political gain. I don't think many Americans want to be associated with that legacy.
