Agreed, AV could blossom. There is value in the product. CPQ should leverage it as it can. I guess I'm suggesting that CPQ seek out a partnership with a software company that already has the expertise rather than spend the time and money doing it themselves. Make a friend that doesn't compete with you that knows more about your new toy than you do. The friendship is valuable, you don't hurt much for the effort (which is mostly talk anyway) and who know's, AV might eventually produce some $$$ too. Without the right handling (and nurturing) AV could be a huge waste of resources and effort that produces nothing. Unless CPQ surprises me I don't think they are prepared to do a good job with this right now.
