US government claims to be able to secretly drain bank accounts. Not exactly a negative for gold if is true and more people become aware of it.

According to a Washington Post article on Osama bin Laden, the US
government now has the ability to hack into bank accounts and remove funds.
Deep in the August 28 story, John Mintz reported, "Some US officials also
suggest they could drain his accounts using highly classified means of
information warfare involving electronic networks."
