Canal+ denies Primestar investment report
PARIS, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Pay television company Canal Plus on Friday denied a U.S. newspaper report that it may invest as much as $500 million to take 10 percent of U.S. satellite broadcaster Primestar.

''We don't have any plans to invest in one of the U.S. multi-channel outfits,'' a Canal Plus spokeswoman said when asked about a USA Today report that the French company would help Rupert Murdoch's News Corp buy Primestar from Time Warner (NYSE:TWX - news), MediaOne (NYSE:UMG - news), Comcast and Cox (NYSE:COX - news).
