<<But you apparently will accept just any sort of rubbish, so long as it effectively puts toilet paper in our nation's bathrooms.>>

You must know you are very greatly exaggerating, to the point of characature, my views to more emotionally make your point.

I have repeatedly said that I think that perjury concerning many underlying subjects under many circumstances WOULD constitute an impeachable offense. And SHOULD lead to impeachment of THIS President with exactly the same accomplishments and performance of the economy that now stand to his credit.

I think, in fact that even a bit of a change in the underlying circumstances of these same lies would make a big difference in the public views on impeachment, of this very same President.

For instance. Let's say Monica Lewinsky was on trial for reckless homicide, vehicular homicide. She faced possibly a substantial prison sentence if convicted. Possibly not. Possibly probation or a short sentence and parole, given no record, but possibly. Her alibi was she was in the White House. Under pressure she broke down and admitted an affair with the President.

If the President didn't corroborate her story and admit she was indeed visiting past midnight that night, etc., he would be in huge trouble with the public. And with me. That perjury would be viewed very differently. Despite all that abundance of toilet paper our economy is affording, as you choose to put it.

This was the smallest, and most forgivable perjury that I find it easy to imagine. As I say repeatedly. Because it is the heart of the matter.
