Amazing,, a country with no national airline..

In 70s,,for emerging economies,,first thing they got was a national airline.. Phillipine just announced that they are dissolving the Phillipine Airlines... loss of 10s of thousands of jobs as well as domestic transportation will be in a coma,,
nation being a palago of island chain... masses will now have to rely on rails,, buses, jeepnies.. and often over turning ferries,,

Is the economy that bad ?

A country who speaks Tagalog.. run by etnic Chinese but prides it self being closer to caucasian race claiming Spanish blood,,, a domination they welcomed for centuries,, earliest trade between South America and Orient was ,,Mexico and Phillipines for silver and spice,, by spaniards .. going back to 1400s..

The implication is a heavy psychological blow to Fillipinos,, as they were the most well to do Asians in 1950s thanx to McArthur and Marshall Plan,, as they were the first ones to get the transfer of western technology,, the first tall buildings of Asia were built by Fillipino engineers working with US Army Corps of Engineers.. up until 70s...

Well Marcos took care of that ,, and succession of new presidents ,, including the Yellow Revolution madam to Fernandez..

I am saddened by the closing of the PIA ... it was a very good airline...
