My understanding of what has been done in the past would include impeachment (of federal judges) for things as simple as public drunkenness. One of the articles of impeachment for Nixon was that he lied to the American public. I believe one of the articles against Andrew Johnson was that he brought dishonor to the Presidency. I'm not so sure there's as clear a notion as you think.

Please educate me - no sarcasm here - I would honestly like to know where to look, in order to be more informed on this. It's obviously the major bone of contention (besides the politics, of course) in this discussion.
