I have been out of Osicom for a while now. I really haven't reviewed recent statements of the conference call. They may be positive, but nothing strikes me as fantastic, they strike me as more machinations which come after machinations after machinations, it appears to be endless and in fact hopeless if you ask me. The telecom business is huge and will be grow exponentially. Unfortunately there are many new players and many technologies. From RBOC's to long distance to power companies to CLEC to sattelite systems, ASDL to fiber to wireless. Many of these players are big fish and they still don't have a lock on future business. All of this further muddied by polotics and the FCC regulation/dregulation. No doubt the pipes have to get fatter, but picking a winner is really a challenge. Osicom could be a great investment for anyone lucky enough to buy it just prior to some huge sale. I held out for a long time and the actuall loss combined with the opportunity loss is quite substantial. I am waiting for now as I see the market continuing to slide for at least 6 months if not longer. Then I will look at Lucent, Cisco or similar large scale supplier and possibly a power company or cable company as the winning pipe. The key to telecom IMHO is to pick big companies with many customers and a large installed base, one that pays dividends is a big plus as well.

Good luck to Osicom holders but it's really a crap shoot. And not to rain on todays parade, but divide todays close by 3 and there isn't much to cheer about.
