<<Phil, if I'm reading your post correctly, I have to say that I don't think Apple could manufacture 248,000 iMacs by the end of August. Weren't we figuring about 60,000 on hand at 8/15 and at most 50k produced a week by the Sacramento plant?>>

Marc, well, maybe you are right about the amount from Sacramento plant, but
there are 5-6 assembly lines running in Singapore and Japan only
received 8,000 units on September 2nd. I suspect Apple shipped a
significant amount of iMac's from Singapore to US between August 15th-31st.
Like you said, Apple could make up the supply shortage before the end
of the quarter to some extent, and leave some for the next quarter.

My previous post only indicates the "real" amount sold based on very
small sampling data and hence it cannot represent the entire sales
picture. The quarter result may or may not exceed our estimates.
