I would be surprised if Qcom sold its handset business. The handset business is important to creating and maintaining good relationship with carriers, helps to get infrastructure business, helps to build brand name recognition with the public also. Therefore, jettisoning handset business, IMHO, would hurt its other businesses. Plus, maintenance of handset manufacturing should spur chipset development, which benefits the handset manufacturers who buy Qcom chips.

Good news. I have issued many posts regarding Sprints deadzone on Central Expressway in Dallas near Meadow Road--near the Ericsson building. Yesterday, for the first time in over a year, my call did not get dropped at Meadow Road! Sprint must have turned on its latest infrastructure improvements.
