There is more long discussions where nothing seems to change than one can suspect. I've experienced it many times.

Perhaps the difference here is that a third party has become involved. A banker, whose priority is not what had been discussed before, nor who's ego will get bruised. The banker wants his cash back. He can exert considerable pressure to resolve issues. Suddenly, the situation being discussed is not the same as the previous discussions. Sort of a challenge to the status quo (to paraphrase your old boss). In this light, maybe a solution is just a bit easier (or more necessary). The plus is, it can still be amicable (or at least presented as such).

Business on the other side of the world is not too different than it is here.....it just seems to take a lot longer, because the quantum leaps that are possible here due to experience is not possible in Central Asia. You have to muddle through all the intermediate steps. In the end, you end up at the same conclusion.

Bob, eventho you hold no mgr, and hold reasons not to buy, I am very
glad that you post on this thread. I can ask Dave the same question
as you, but using different words, and Dave's reply to you will be
different than his reply to me. Both of Dave's answers are true and
sincere and valid, but each contains different facts and sometimes the
same facts with a different perspective. Good for the thread, and
sometimes Dave's reply can contain additional information in the "eyes"
of the reader. For example, Dave's reply to your post left me with
the feeling that progress has been made with the new element of the
Bank entering as a factor. Meaning to me that the Bank has the ability
to change talking-inaction to talking-action. I hope my guess is
right, and if so then a period of time will be needed for the finally
action phase to accomplish discussions and legal stuff. It may take
days or weeks, and then it may require another trip to Mongolia for
Dave so that all parties are finally willing to complete a deal.
This is all speculation by me, and another trip by Dave may not be
needed if he left enought information, and also, if Dave does go to
Mongolia again soon, it may not signal a settlement is to happen.
