Absolutely. Problem is that if a firm is not succeeding with the allocation they are using, generally they are smart enough to rethink their priorities. From what I have seen of ECD, they almost consider marketing and PR as nuisances. This is of course amply factored into their current market cap. IMHO, Stempel is a liability. He couldn't even affect the culture at GM, viv-a-vis electric vehicles, when he was the president of the company. Why would there be reason to believe that he could be successful in a GM relationship from a suppliers position? His presence at ECD has been of no consequence as the stock has done nothing but tank during his tenure. I would be a lot happier with a marketing oriented management. Stan has the technical side under control. He needs an effective frontperson. Stempel ain't.

Encouraging and Discouraging. Several months ago I read a Richo press release that had this in it.

Ricoh has been a leading manufacturer of CD-R media since the industry began several years ago, and controls all licensing for CD-RW (rewriteable) media.

I quickly called the ECD and talked to the person in charge of Phase Change. You should get Richo to change this statement since it is not true. Of cource it is not true Tom, but there is nothing we can do about it. With that I began calling Richo myself and before you know it I was talking to the head councel at Richo USA. I told him that he should review this statement because there is another company that holds several patents on CD-RW. He said that he would review it becauce they do not want to make false statements. The Richo statement now reads like this.

Richo holds many patents worldwide, including one for CD-RW media.

I recently called ECD and talked to someone about getting ECD's name included in talks regarding
DVD royalties and such. Oh Tom, they would never include our name with theirs. Well has anybody
tried? No. I'm not saying that it could be done but why dosen't someone just try???????????????
