Hi Baldy,
in your opinion, is Ciena a good investment at this price, and will someone pick this baby up at a premium ...

Re good investment, yes, and although I usually refrain from commenting/predicting stock movement, I would be confident in Ciena rebounding in the intermediate to long term, relative to all other points of reference.

I also think that their announced restructuring of their sales/marketing org was merely a needed step, since they were most likely previously [and very likely disproportionately] planning and depending on a newly formed TLAB-Ciena marketing team structure, which, of course, never materialized.

In other words, I wouldn't view that move as entirely significant or indicative of trouble... although, at the present time, trouble is one commodity that they have a sufficient supply of.

I'll take a pass on the takeout Q, tho, if you don't mind. There are too many erstwhile larger suitors who are now in field themselves very heavily, and I don't have a good feel for potential synergies and complimentary value propositions right at this time.

Regards, Frank C.
