COMPUTER CONCEPTS CORP. ANNOUNCES PROFIT OF $1,394,000 FOR SECOND QUARTER 1998
Net Income Per Share (EPS) of $0.09 Reported for 2nd Quarter 1998
Bohemia, NY - August 19, 1998 - Computer Concepts Corp. (NASDAQ-CCEE) today announced its unaudited financial results for the three and six months ended June 30, 1998.
For the three months ended June 30, 1998, revenues increased 54.8% to $11,486,000 from $7,422,000 for the comparable period in 1997. Net income for the three months ended June 30, 1998, was $1,394,000, or a basic and diluted net income per share of $0.09, as compared to a net loss of $5,784,000, or a basic and diluted net loss of $0.57 per share, for the comparable 1997 period.
For the six months ended June 30, 1998, revenues increased 44.0% to $19,110,000 from $13,274,000 for the comparable period in 1997. Net loss for the six months ended June 30, 1998, was $2,158,000, or a basic and diluted net loss of $0.15 per share, as compared to a loss of $8,219,000, or a basic and diluted net loss of $0.81 per share for the comparable 1997 period, an improvement of $0.66 per share.
The net income for the three months ended June 30, 1998, and the net loss for the six months ended June 30, 1998, included a gain on the partial distribution of a subsidiary in the amount of $6,627,000. The reported losses for the three and six month periods ended June 30, 1997, included an unusual charge of $850,000 relating to settlement of a class action lawsuit.
