There probably won't be any suitors because what Ciena wants is far above its current value. Besides, it seems all Ciena needs is a strong sales and marketing team, so they probably only need to merge with a user car dealership. Technology wasn't the reason why it planned to merge with TLAB anyway.

I also don't expect a fast rebound until all the attention on Ciena dies down. The forgotten beaten-down stocks usually recover faster: AFCI, ITWO, IIXC, SMOD ...

baldman, for someone who really like cien but don't have any possition, this could be a good entry point. however, if cien drops
below 10, i would bail out. But recently, alot of leaders at bargain,
like tlab, nt, lu and they may potentially drop lower due to industry
slower down, i would rather take some chance with them than cien, unless i am very sure that cien will turn around. for semi, i would
rather stick with amat or intc. in the worse scenario, at least the
leaders will survice. good luck. will return when i am boring.
