Technocrat,

<<I should add that I have been buying ANCR stock starting at 10 and chasing it all the way down to 1.>>

I have also gotten this "10 to 1" return on a portion of my Ancor investment. <g>

The Qlogic/Adaptec discussion is interesting. I think the bottom line is that Qlogic, and to a lesser extent Emulex, were simply out in front too far for Adaptec to catch up. That is why I believe Adaptec decided to de-emphasize Fibre Channel internally, and partner to give themselves a presence in the market. (Just in case.) The danger is that Adaptec will undoubtedly focus the vast majority of their efforts on retaining their existing SCSI base, and expanding on it. Because of their position in the market, this may negatively impact Fibre Channel adoption in some areas. I think that long term, Adaptec will be forced to return to the Fibre Channel market in a big way, much as IBM was forced to do. Fibre Channel simply offers too many advantages for Adaptec to ignore. (At least not for very long.)

Craig

Technocrat, you wrote:

Amazing. My hat is off to her.>>

I think she is still a respected industry person from the perspective of being the former chairperson of the Fibre Channel Association as well as heading up the Fibre Channel Initiative that preceded the FCA..her status is probably not too different than that of Ed Fromeyer of EMF Associates, except that she perhaps has even more consulting credibility as a former manager from Digital and Adaptec..my guess is that she will be in HOT demand very soon as she probably has founder's stock from Brocade ( like Roy Sardina ) and most likely has a non-compete clause for a finite time period ( which might explain her current consultant status )..I would venture to say that she'll land on her feet at some FC company/division before year-end.Just an educated guess.
