To all. general Info.

PARIS, FRANCE, 1998 SEP 18 (NB) - By Phil Piemonte, Newsbytes. With
great fanfare, Globalstar last week made the first public phone call
via its nascent mobile satellite system. The call, which was placed
Sept. 9 at the Satel Conseil Symposium in Paris, was made from a
special Qualcomm [NASDAQ:QCOM] handset directly to a Globalstar
satellite. The signal was then relayed through a French gateway owned
by Telecommunications par Satellites Mobiles (TSM) and delivered to the
call recipient via the public switched network.
