Steve...That's why I would buy a protective put below the put I sold, that way if I didn't want to own the stock, changed my mind, I could put it to someone else...On the otherhand if I wanted to keep the stock that was put to me I could...The only risk is the spread between, which is narrowed by the premium I would receive for the sale....Doesn't seem like a bad set of alternatives all the way around.....I definately wouldn't sell a put without buying one lower, however.
