Tom..This market is really best for daytraders for the time being. I sold NKE on Thursday when everything was down and it was way up on Friday. There is really nothing you can do. Position traders were 'cool' during the 4 day rally and then promptly lost all their gains if they didn't sell after the rally.

You can't guess what the market will do even if you do pick up a winner like COMS. One positive change is that lots of stocks now give more profit intraday than ever before, especially the low-priced ones. All the volatility is causing stocks to have intraday ranges of up to 8 points in some cases. I would tend to hold overnight ONLY if there was a strong end of day rally...But even then (remember
Wednesday) you don't always get a follow-through the next day.

I work harder than ever trying to find the couple that might outshine the others. I get out of trades that start to go sour more quickly than ever before. I get out of index options after 1 point gain instead of holding them overnight for more like I used to.. Everything is in fast motion..I think things will improve expecially since valuations are coming down to more realistic levels.. Until then I'll just go with the flow.
