Richard: Thanks for the info. Given that the leaching is supposed to be 15 minutes, would that mean a continuous process would involve a reaction curcuit (pipeline?) long enough that it would take a leach/ore solution 15 minutes to traverse its length? If so, how will the ore be continuously agitated during the leach phase? (if you just shoot the mixture down a pipeline, the ore will tend to settle?)

Also, my understanding is that the ore contains clay, which is a real bugger to deal with. Clay-based mines in South Africa are profitable only because the grades are high (5 grams a ton according to Naxos's Jeremy Ison). If my understanding is correct, I can see why Maxam is very focussed on locating high-grade areas of ore, for 0.05 or 0.1 may be difficult to make money on.
