hmm...downloadable 100% pure java applets that run everywhere, on anything.. that do work processing, spreadsheets....good idea ed!

here one - f1j.com

"Formula One for Java is a 100% pure Java-based, Microsoft
Excel-compatible spreadsheet application that provides users on numerous
platforms fast calculations and data formatting options. Its intuitive
architecture also allows Webmasters to use it as an applet to embed live
spreadsheets in their Web pages and Java developers to use it as a JavaBean
to build Java applications with quick calculations and high-powered
spreadsheets. In short, Formula One for Java is the solution for putting
Spreadsheets EverywhereTM."

of course it may not run on Microsoft's "propietary" Platforms which i'll lump WebTV under even though Microsoft technologies arent strong enought to power Web Tv (its infrastructure is Sun based).
