"What do we do now? Buy? Consider this: The average price-earnings ratio the past century has been 14. This bloated market balooned that ratio to a record 29. The downdraft since July 17 reduced it to 25. That means we're still about 80 percent overvalued. And to get even for the past 16 years of soaring values, we may have to trade under a 14 PE for awhile. Like years."
