There was a good program on opinion polls (and interviews with the country's leading pollsters) a couple of days back (on MSNBC?).

As for this poll, I wonder if some of the questions were loaded. Asking a question like : "Do you think that President Clinton should consider resigning?" is very different from asking : "Do you think President Clinton should resign, or be impeached or be censured?"

Perhaps that explains why Clinton's approval ratings went up even in this poll, in spite of the other numbers seemingly going against him.

Also, the increase in the number of people who favor impeachment hearings could possibly mean that people hope that such a hearing would be fairer to Clinton than what's going on now (telecast of testimony, trial by the media and so on).
