Wow what a game that was... I've never watched a vols game before. The defence was particularly impressive. Congrats E!!! Announcer said there were 107,000 people at the game last night. I wish we had a football program like that here at the U of MN. Ohhh well... we've got the vikings, so I am fully satisfied. Look for Randal Cunningham (the best back-up qb in the league) to throw at least one touchdown pass to Randy Moss (future rookie of the year) today. They hooked up numerous times in the pre-season. Vikes should get a good challenge from Barry Sanders and Lions however.

Continuing with the sports theme... did anyone watch the Holifield vs. Bean bout? I rarely watch boxing, but we get showtime free here at my new apt. I turned over to it just as the Vols game was ending and the match hadn't started yet. The announcers were essentially labeling Bean as a fool for stepping into the ring with Holifield. He surprised everyone and went 12 rounds with the guy... ended up losing by decision. Then everybody argued in the ring about unimportant things for about a half hour. The referee almost got in a fight with Bean's manager during an interview. Then Don King proceeded to make his political statements... and soon the excitement was over. What a crazy sport heavyweight boxing is... those guys are nuts.

Anywho... just checkin in. Had to plug my purple before they go 3-0 :-)

<<Fans stormed the field at Neyland Stadium and tore down the goalposts, celebrating Tennessee's first win over Florida since 1992. The drought had accounted for five of Volunteers coach Phillip Fulmer's 11 losses in six-plus seasons at Knoxville and spanned the entire Peyton Manning era. >>

You're bringing tears to my eyes there, Byron! It was truly a sight to see! The fences came down, the goalposts came down, the turf came up, nothing but a cheering sea of orange...truly amazing. Oh, and no one ever tried to stop it!

After last night...the rest is "gravy". Who cares?? We made it over that hump. Hard times...bad times...unfair times...setbacks...but still that prize finally was delivered to the faithful. Humm...sounds like a message there, huh? <gg>

Have a great evening, Sir!
