Steve:
I was vacationing in San Juan...got out of there just in time. The island could get blown away in today's storm.

I bought Roper about 18 months ago after reading a great writeup on it in Smart Money Mag. They called it a boring company that does nothing but dominate its industry and continually generate decent profits. I paid about $23 (adj for split) and the stock performed very well until about 45 days ago.

I haven't firgured out what creamed the stock price yet and would be tempted to buy more at these levels but already have a large position in it. I'm going to wait out the storm. I think Roper is well managed and I love companies that quietly dominate their perspective industries. If you're patient, I am almost sure you will be rewarded.

Let me know if you have any good info on our company.

Regards,

Chip
