THC,, I'm not that good at charts, but one positive I see in the U.S$ chart is the size of the valleys in the moving averages decreasing from the june / july lows until now.. One book I read once that used exponential moving averages highlighted this as very important.

THC: Chartists can't predict the future! Not from their charts, that is.

The only ones who can tell you what IS going to happen are the clairvoyants, the Elliott Wavers, the I Chingers and the front-runners . And, of course, the nine wavers (Tom)!

I found looking at those Japanese charts very difficult for my blood-shot African eyes. I found this chart a lot simpler : pacific.commerce.ubc.ca.

From THIS chart (which incidentally gives different yen values from the ones you mention) it looks like the silver price might rise from its present price of 670 to 770 and after that fall back in conformation to the recently established downtrend.
