I don't have much knowledge about Hyde, I may find him a good man in dealing with this as it plays out. I don't share the outrage that so many do concerning the topic of sex and all the variations that it takes. People are in marriages of all different types. The misconception that all marriages are this one idealistic thing is in itself childish and simplistic. People bond with each other for all sorts of crasy motivations and marriages that look terrible to outsiders can be very rewarding to the people involved. Some are more like friendships than anything else. Staying married and going outside of the marriage for sex can sometimes be appropiate. Open marriages have existed long before the 60's; they just weren't talked about. Many women move into separate bedrooms as time goes on in a marriage. There are many good reasons to stay together outside of sexual functionality in the marriage. It isn't cheating if the partner knows what the other one is doing without all the details. Clinton might have lied to the public without lying to Hillary. As you say and I agree with what you say; impeachment is a serious constitutional mechanism and it should not be done lightly, but with clear heads by all involved. Polls shouldn't even be the issue and even if Clinton had 80% disapproval ratings, if clear heads say there isn't enough to impeach, he shouldn't be. I'm on the fence about whether he should stay or go. I have very mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I am disgusted with the stupidity of giving ammunition to the enemy when it was so obvious it could easily go this way. He had to understand that he risked everything for a BJ and that just doesn't make sense. The whole thing; Monica blackmailing him, the sex calls that were so easy to tape (amazingly Monica didn't), all of that. He has hurt many sound Democratic causes unnecesarily right when they could have gained momentum. I am profoundly disallusioned with him. I don't respect him. I have to counter this though with who brought all of this to this point; Paula Jones, all the ultra right-wing types, Newt behind the scenes, the hypocritical religion abusing Republican lobbying group The Christian Coalition, Linda Tripp, Monica (who was probably a Republican mole); I look at all of these sorry examples or humanity and then I am left going back to supporting Clinton just because to not would be to let these low-lifes win. Why should I support their effort to bring this President down when none of this would be an issue excluding them. This is where I have ended up. I think Clinton is a bad character and I think he was a complete jerk about this whole thing, but I hate the other side ever more and think they are even worse. I'll hold my nose and support the lessor of two evils.
