Yes, and the failure is working up the food chain
Already hit have been the specialty finance companies
relying on securitization and gain on sale.

Next the investment banks, especially Lehman(LEH)
and Merrill-Lynch (MER) that have provided
warehousing loans for mortgage purchases that
now cannot be securitized.

And way up the chain is GE Capital that has provided
all the insurance for securitized bonds.

Also, eventually the commercial real estate market.
