bp: You have on the nail placed your hammer smartly. The charge against Clinton is flat-out hick-town dumbness. He exposed himself to the danger of blackmail by a foreign power and should go. I'm trying to narrow down the case against him to a single devastating charge and I think the potential for blackmail contained in this affair is it.

And then we have the tape of Albright leaping to his defence: 'I believe the President told the truth.' The overrated bat is revealed for a boobie and should go, too.

Which is not to say I am a Republican. I despise the blow-dried preaching crowd for the skunks they are.

Give me a Lebed (Russia), a Joschka Fischer (Germany), a Romano Prodi (Italy), a Fred Thompson (USA) or a Mario Cuomo (USA). Give me a Cardinal Martini for Pope. Give me Itzak Rabin. Give me brains and love and courage.

I know I can't expect consistency among the Clinton-bashers, but come on folks! Why would Clinton worry about being blackmailed by foreign powers when he is already their agent and besides, all the people who cross him wind up dead!

>>...speaking of blackmail, just consider what might have
happened if the "reviled" Linda Tripp decided to sell her tapes of
the Lewinsky conversations to say, the Red Chinese, Saddam or
any other enemy. Just want to illustrate that the POTUS really has
no "private" life when it comes to behavior that could be
documented and used against him. His behavior with Lewinsky did nothing less than pose a potential threat to our national security.>>

bp,
I agree. I'm finding I can no longer call him "POTUS" because he doesn't deserve it. From now on, unless you strenuously object, I'm going to call him SCROTUS -- Starr Crossed (or Sex Crazed) Reprobate of the US.

Ridiculous! It could be "documented and used against him" only if we made a big deal about his private life! If we didn't, then it will be worthless information for the "enemy".

Secondly, prevention is always better than cure, right?. Now, who can disagree with that???? Therefore, henceforth, anybody who gets elected to the office of the President has to agree to be neutered (or circumcised, in case it is a woman). ;-) ;-)
