Well there are a number of people on this thread who seem convinced they are uttering the truth; while others may regard the argument as ad hominem. It is beyond me to tell anyone what to do. People generally don't engage in face to face slurs because they often result in some physical damage to mind and body. Here? Well it often just seems so appropriate. With the risk of being shouted down. I would recommend a restatement of what you proposed. Perhaps the 'thread' could hold to the philosophy that since all men are created equal they are a priori judged equally stupid. And given that we are equally stupid we should try and be equally as understanding of our stupidities. Aggressive behavior, whether to insult or restrict insult is really a waste of time on an electronic media. Passive methods of societal control are the only possible solution in my opinion....but what do I know, I'm as stupid as the rest of you!
