I haven't heard that one, as I avoid TV whenever possible. I'm quite sure, though, that it is not a contraction of "pun didn't", as in "the pundint inspire much laughter".

If only someone would discover a pundit that could inspire laughter, there might be some function for an otherwise inutile segment of humanity.

If we accept that Conservation of Consonants is a physical law, then - it probably is the one missing from the way folks are pronouncing "Clinton".
