Thread: I read last night that an unnamed Goldman Sachs partner was quoted in the London press as saying their IPO has been postponed because of bad market conditions. I haven't yet looked for confirmation. I assume this will hit hard the financials and brokers. Unfortunately, I don't see how this can be shorted with the futures down big time. If the market bounces off an initial drop, I'd think anyone trading the long side would be better looking for sectors without bad news. For longer term, though, it could present even more attractive prices for the likes of companies such as TRV, MER and LEH, to name a few.
