Heard on the Street 9/21/98.... Stent price war in the making?? That's how this WSJ story begins on assessing AVEI. They say recent strength has been due to top exec's promoting AVE products at medical conferences. The article sites Boston Scientific as a big rival to AVE in Europe..can capture 25% of sales by 4th Q. The other rival to worry about is Guidant. Pricing pressures may lead to reduced profit estimates, so this stock could get hit today along with the rest of the market. Be careful.
