Shorting a stock at any level is never dangerous if you are sure the price will eventually drop and you have the money to wait out a run up if it doesn't right away. ATHM will drop soon. I am confident of that. As for picking the tops, it ain't that easy. I'd rather short a sure thing and endure a little pain then wait too long and miss out. When stocks like ATHM do drop, they drop way to fast to short. That's why I said one should short in incremental amounts and be prepared for a run up. Look how far and fast it dropped last time. If you weren't already short, you missed out.
