Hmmmm, I am not an expert on Dianne Feinstein, Michael. I do know that she is moderate rather than liberal, in most of her positions. She has had a pretty hard life in a way. She grew up in San Francisco, and her parents were rich, but her mother was mentally ill, and she and her sister spent a lot of time locked in the car and stuff like that. She married a brain surgeon who died very young and slowly from a brain tumor, if memory serves me, and left her with a young child to rear. I think she has a lot of inner resolve and strength. When our mayor Moscone was assassinated and she took over because she was next in line, she did very well in traumatic circumstances--several people in city government were gunned down all around her. She is genuinely dismayed at Clinton's lack of integrity. I think she is a very much better senator than Barbara Boxer, and I would feel very happy if she runs for the presidency, although I doubt she will, even though her name is being kicked around a lot right now.
