Steven, you may be right. I would like to see them get rid of the incredible pension and free Franken privileges incumbants have now. If the terms were limited, ordinary citizens might be able to run. The amount needed to run an election would probably go down because of the limited time involved. Also I believe only people from your state should be allowed to give contributions to the ones running there. That would hit the pack dollars pretty hard. I would also limit dramatically anyone working in the Government to participate at all.

Nothing will ever begin however until term limits is enacted. There is just too much for elected officials to lose for these type of laws to ever get enacted without term limits.

Steve, The only suggestion that my brother-in-law has ever made that I liked is that we should use the lottery system to send people to congress, choosing from maybe 10 people who got equal amounts of money to campaign from. Can't be any worse than what we have now. Now we elect the person with the best line of bullshit.
