Dear nihil: Thanks for expanding on my cryptic response to Paul. The Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, was the means by which sufficient quantities of U235 were produced. The Bull Run Steam Plant and Melton Hill Dam, operated by TVA, provided local power but I believe as nihil points out that all the TVA dams (Muscle Shoals Project) on the Tennessee River system were networked and provided an enormous source of cheap electricity.
