<I sense you'd like to call this a stock market bottom along with so many others....and that's certainly your choice..... but there's little fundamental proof at the moment for such a call adding to, in my view, a very high risk climate. I choose to do nothing long at the moment.>

Thanks for clearing that up. You have nothing to say about Innovex.

There are many specific things that could be driving this stock. For example, I am reading about how Read Rite has developed a GMR head that works differently than IBM's design. Do you know if it has different wiring requirements? I would like to know.

Do you know anything about inventory in the channel for hard drives? Are we going to see increased, or decreased buying for y2k conversion? Is there a development in Surface Mount Technology that will favor Innovex's flex circuits. Etc., etc., etc.

I think we can pick stocks in this market. I wonder when Innovex shows enough value to make it a good investment. Do we have a situation where Innovex should trade down to book value? Give me something I can use. I can and do read hundreds of expert views on generally economy.

By the way, Innovex has been up despite the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P trading down from the open.

Regards,

Mark

Joel, Sounds like solid reasoning... I also agree with you that we'll probably go back and retest our lows here if we follow a standard market pattern. Which mean that we would fall about 12-14% on the NASDAQ. And I "cheated" here a bit in that I sold Oct 10 Puts on INVX, since it bottomed recently at 9 15/16ths I figured that that was a pretty good bet. After the next couple of weeks or so I'll buy the stock outright.

And techs will go down a bit- buts techs are looking "washed out" here to me. This next retest of the lows will take out the last bears IMO. In fact I'll bet that we have a whopping good market in techs in 1999.

Also for all of us I think we should be looking to reenter Asian stocks generally after we do our retest. Yup Asian stocks....but I'll just do those through a mutual fund....

Mark- You forgot to mention that INVX has $3.73/sahre cash to boot. Right now tremendous tech stocks wth no debt and lots of cash are selling cheaply.

Joel-if you reenter consider INVX carefully- also look at SCI, KLAC, and TER for e.g. as no debt good companies with cash, and market leaders to boot....

Also want to risk a flip chip market leader that could either go out of business or make you an 800% return in 1999? Then buy some AFLX... Indeed I wonder if INVX might not just pick up AFLX or at least some of its assets...
Sincerely,

Doug F.
