What does anyone expect,,, would anyone here in their position hold the market up so people who suddenly had a change of heart could leave through the front door... Geesh....

Ref. Have to put on stops with every trade in this sort of market.

You identified some very good reasons for not having stops. I am reminded of two occurrences in last year. (1) I owned VVUS at 40 and sold at $9 - (one reason for having a stop). (2) Got stopped out of AA and PVT - good stocks which are now much higher - (reasons for not placing stops). I think they can/should be used when (1) you have a good profit and (2) you place the stops significantly below lower trading range say 12%.
