mr. K - I dont want to go too far into this Ca real estate issue because I know it isnt interesting for most that read this. But you all have *conveniently* MISSED THE POINT. The point is, that the older generation, boomers or whatever, are asking the GenX crowd to subsidize their taxes. If you are 50 and own a house that you bought 20 years ago, and I am 27 and I buy that same house, my first house presumably, I will pay at least 10x the taxes on that house. Does that sound like wealth redistribution to you? Sounds like wealth redistribution to me. Conveniently, since everybody that benefits from this unfair law is older, and demographically tend to lean towards republicanism, well then this is one example of wealth redistribution thats ok right? WRONG. You call yourselves conservatives? You dont want to subsidize social security etc? Fine that means prop 13 goes too.

As an adjuct, this unfair law has caused pain in Silicon Valley for the workers. Dont confuse that with the real issue however which is fairness.
