Katherine,

I think we've now found two things we agree on, the second being PC's in education. IMO, they should play a very small role in schools outside of research for their projects. Most kids will take to computers at a very early age since that is where much of their entertainment is anyway. I am not sure a nation of web-surfing kids is the best prepared for the new millenium. On any given day in the usage of our computers, how much can any one of us say we learned in school? For me, it's practically zero and yet I consider myself proficient on the PC. I am not sold by Clinton/Gore's wired classroom as the panacea for a nation of ill-prepared children. IMO, they are distracting the public with pie-in-the-sky ideas.
