Lying is just part of Homo Politicus's survival kit! If the American people should fire every lying politician, they'd better close Capitol Hill and put it for sale!
Remember George Bush's read-my-lips! And what about the Irangate? What Nixon did in the Watergate was totally different: he was spying and sabotaging the Democrats's electoral meetings! This was a brutal plot against Democracy itself! Nixon would have been a perfect CIA Director: beyond that, he just hit his Peter Principle ceiling.
