Wow! As the xDSL guys squabble, The cable modem guys are going to eat their lunch. They will probably own the whole home market. The xDSL guys are going to contend with just the small business market.

Too bad LSI is not in the cable-modem chip business too, like STM.

E:

I see your point. Looks uncannily like 1996. I say big time rally.
Forget that basing thing! The shot across the bow was Micron
saying that they were able to raise prices. If anyone knows anything
about the PC industry we are ready for the good times.

McNealy also knows about the digital continuum:
dailynews.yahoo.com
"On the desktop we have two major strategies. One is for the creator, which is our workstation business. We want to continue
to deliver the best graphics, floating point, [multiprocessing] destkop performance, scalability for people who are creating
content, software, publishing kinds of activities.

Then for the consumers of all this information, we don't want them to have to have a workstation, we don't want them to have
40 million lines of code on their desktops. "

E,

I am back and a pleasant surprise to see LSI up 10%, even though only on average volume. Now the big question is can we see the gap filled in the next few weeks at the 16-18 level?

If we have another day like today then I would guess something big is up... maybe takeover rumors again. If we retrace a bit then the normal basing with some over done days to get the shorts a little uneasy.<g> Would like to see the volume pick up and get into the
3-4 million share days. Also we still have to deal with the tax selling season as long as the DOW is up for the year.
