Dear Iqbal- Greetings from a lurker who misses your educational posts very much.I have been trying to incorporate your teachings so that I also can "see" as you do. I follow when able. For a bit of humor my U.S. broker does not allow one to sell calls or puts as I am a foreigner (Canadian).Thank God for the internet, though. I live in a small village on an island and read about your global ideas. What amazing times these are. Please return.Your teaching is invaluable, and your gift to this thread of both your time and your wisdom has been great.Regards- Helen MacMillan

Brian, are you talking to me? I almost never posted on this thread leaving alone attacking you. Are you mistaking me for someone else?

Re: Wounded Ego

I have access to SI but I just don't feel like participating. Too much of venom directed against me by people like Xia-- no sanity, Proton- nearly every day ritual of sarcasm-

Not sarcasm, Mr. Latif: facts, incontrovertible facts. Facts are stubborn things, even more stubborn than your disciples. The fact about COMS, among others. The fact that you heaped an "every day ritual of sarcasm" on quality analysts like R. Acampora while the U.S. market had an historically bad month. The facts behind your flawed Russology, misreading of the psychological impact of the Clinton scandals, and the condition of the Japanese banking system.

When Mr. Latif spins his grand theories, we are supposed to be in awe of his virtual mastery of politics and history. But when there is a refutation or criticism of obvious flaws and foibles, we are told to
stay "on topic."

Argue with the Uncle, and you're a bear. Contradict him, you're "nothing." Look at the "respect" frater noster gives those who have the temerity to speak up:

I think my tragedy is that kind of people who oppose me are so shallow that in my opinion this whole exercise has been a failure..now answering these people who have nothing on line- or their only purpose is to create confusion on the thread is asking for trouble, tese guys need an answer from me that they will never get- I like to disagree with people but I also know that once you know someone well enough just don't get ever further involved.

Not to mention the fact that, if you don't completely agree with Iqbal, you are a bear, the lowest form of life in his bizarre menagerie. I'll give you this, Iqbal: you have a Virtually Clintonian mastery of the use of language as propaganda.

SI is populated with many intelligent, popular people who left the "Idea" thread in disgust. Of course, this information new readers of the thread "they will never get," will they?

I have acknowledged your skills as a short-term trader, which is more than you can ever give people who disagree with you. It's too bad that you're not interested in a genuine brotherhood, complete with diversity of opinion and acceptance of criticism. What skills you do possess would be of some value in such an environment.

I don't really care about these critcs...

Sure, Uncle. Sure.

I'm not looking for answers to my postings. I leave them as a response to the self-congratulation and fawning that predominates here. Consider it a small attempt to bring balance to this corner of SI.

However, if you are so intolerant of diverse opinion and criticism that you would deny your pearls to us swine, then I should do no less than leave this thread. For now. Maybe one week, eh? ":-)
