<< any Clinton conviction on perjury either before the Grand Jury or in the Jones case, under all the circumstances, was very, very unlikely>>

If this went to trial, the decision would be made by a jury. According to the latest polls (and you all know how much I trust the polls), somewhere between 70% and 90% of Americans think that Clinton lied in either the Jones case, the GJ testimony or both. We all do know what sex is, and why Clinton lied about it. But we obviously do think he lied. That being the case, how could Clinton not be found guilty, at least in the GJ testimony, since so many people think he lied during that testimony? Lawyers may call it hairsplitting, his opponents may call it twisting words, but the people call it lying.

By the way, I notice you don't address the obstruction charges. Do you think anything has been shown either way on those charges?

<<Why do you suppose the market came back so much as the tape was 2/3 through or so? Actually, started sooner than that. And kept going back to neutral then positive as the tape completed.>>

Since the public response has been either neutral or in the President's favor since the release of the tapes, why do you think the market has been dropping today?

Every time you try to tie the market action to the Clinton chronicles, I want to jump through my computer and........

Deep breaths, calm down, it's going to be okay.

Boy, you really had me going there for a minute.

By the way, thanks for the civility of the discussions - I enjoy the sparring and appreciate the tone. I know you have taken a somewhat different tone at times with other people, but it's been obvious that a reasonable discussion can be held, even when people don't agree, if they actually are discussing the issue instead of yelling at each other.
