A number of previous Independent Counsels have said they wouldn't have pursued this area, or would have soon dropped it when they saw where that the Jordan line of questioning wasn't going very far. Starr was as zealous as he could possibly have been. He pushed his authority to the absolute limit, and it seems quite clear that his office repeatedly and illegally leaked information. (Which the press has covered up, and refuses to make much noise about -- despite Brill's attempts-- because it loves leaks, no matter how illegal.) I found the Iran-Contra investigation also distastful. But it showed vastly more balance than this. It just should have been dropped alot earlier. Doug

Eric, bullshit, Nixon was a one time event,Iran-Contra was a one time event,and now this is a one time event. This was orchestrated to assassinate a president with words,nothing more,nothing less. I am not condoning Clinton's actions,and I do not vote any party. I am just absolutely shocked that this runaway madman named Kenneth Starr could conduct such an escapade,where all of us are paying with humiliation. This was done to take down a president,and it may have taken down more than that. It may have taken down our constitution and our democracy more than we will know for at least another independent counsel. But then we might find out in less than 8 years how badly this has damaged what our forefathers have set up. Hiram
