Doug,

In Pat's defense, you appear to be a little confused:

< Tele-com markets fixed Wireless networks have not proved economical. NT is shutting down 2 of its Production shops in the U.K.>

NT paid close to $ 500 Million US for BNI, a fixed wireless equipment provider. Hardly a sign that NT believes the wireless market is weak.

<Because of costs, the Mobile wireless market for data & voice currently has a small universe >

Currently, yes. This is an emerging technology. The potential market however is huge. As RBOCS expand beyond their trsditional territories, as CLECS look for more ways to get to the last mile, wireless will win big and prices will fall accordingly.

<The current strategy of the Bells seems to be focussed on the UADSL with both ATM and Frame relay for the backbone.>

I can't think of one RBOC building a frame relay back-bone. Telcos are building either Packet over Sonet backbones or ATM backbones. Frame Relay is a service offered to clients that will typically ride as a service over a telco's ATM backbone.

<I think the concept is viable and Consumers will be willing to trade their modems for a DSLAM with little or no increase of monthly Charges. >

Modems for DSLAMS ? A little knowledge is dangerous I guess. DSLAMs are xDSL muxes that reside in a CO, not customer prem.

Later Doug,
